Dr. Taye Olurotimi Abegunde is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Animal Sciences, Faculty of Agriculture, Obafemi Awolowo University. Born March 1972, He hails from Igangan, Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State.

Dr Abegunde holds a B. Agric (Animal Production and Health) degree, with a 2nd Class Upper Division from the University of Agriculture Abeokuta, Ogun State in year 2000. He completed an M.Sc (Animal Science), University of Ibadan, Ibadan in year 2003. His Ph.D from the University of Ibadan  in 2008 was in the area of Ruminant nutrition with specific focus on in-vitro gas production of certain browse plants as feed for ruminants. He is a registered animal scientist with the Nigerian Institute for Animal Science. Dr Abegunde’s research has focused on utilization of farm wastes products as feed resources for livestock. The presentation of these feed resources have either been in the ensiled form or un-ensiled form with specific interest in reduction of cost through the use of materials regarded as wastes. Leafmeals from some browses and seedmeals of horticultural plants as feed for livestock have also been part of Dr Abegunde’s research thrust.

Dr Abegunde is involved in teaching the following courses in the Department: ANS 501 – Animal Biochemistry, ANS 404 – Sheep and Goat Management Practices, ANS 302 – Ruminant Animal Production, ANS 306 – General Animal Husbandry II, ANS 519 – Small Ruminant Production, ANS 605 – Advanced Ruminant Production, ANS 604 – Pasture and Range management, ANS 624 – Climate change and Agriculture, ANS 617 – Research Techniques in Animal Science, ANS 610 – Recent Advances in Nutrition.

Dr Abegunde has attended several conferences within and outside Nigeria. He is happily married with children.
